October 11, 2013 - Perth WA:  Benchmark wins a third Gold Medal in the Seniors Quartet contest of Barbershop Harmony Australia

Benchmark is delighted to have won its third consecutive national gold medal in Perth this weekend, competing against all of the top quartets in Australia.  We also came 9th in the Open Quartet contest at the Semifinal stage.  We elected to not continue to the Finals, in order to give two youth quartets the chance to appear in the Finals (one as competitor #10 and the other as the 11th-placed Mic Tester quartet).  They were both great!!

Congratulations also to all thre other great competitors, and to Sound Connection chorus for their Bronze medal in the Open Chorus contest in their first-ever appearance on the national stage.

Feb 16th 2013: Titanic news!

It's great to be part of a "Titanic" event!  Benchmark has just returned from performing at the Titanic II Gala Dinner in Macau, China last Saturday (16th February), where Professor Clive Palmer shared his vision for the building of Titanic II.  Around 700 guests at the event were able to experience an 11-course dinner based on the same menu that first class passengers had on the Titanic back in 1912, right down to the original dinner service (plates, cutlery, classes, etc).

Benchmark was privileged to share the stage with rock-legend Glenn Shorrock and his band, Queensland’s premier Irish Band McGuinness & Co, a performance of ‘A Night to Remember’ by Leonie Collins’ Titanic Performance Troupe, and South Korean guitarist and YouTube sensation Sungha Jung.  Check out more at
